We are super excited to meet you outdoorsy people! Here's a little insight on some of the activities we have been up to the past few days preparing for Creek Camp! 10 MORE DAYS!
Freshwater Academy is a week-long camp that gives high school students the opportunity for hands-on experience and fieldwork in Northwestern Pennsylvania's waterways. Students spend their days studying biology and freshwater ecology at a level they can't achieve in the classroom. They will get wet, they will get dirty, and they will love it!

Meet the Creekers
Hello everyone,
We hope you are all excited to learn more about both French Creek and the environment! The things we will be doing at camp are important and a lot of fun. Our names are Mike and Levi, the better looking and smarter Creekers; and don't you forget it!
My name is Levi Lundell, and love the outdoors. Biking and kayaking are some of my favorite hobbies. I always enjoy working with students and learning a thing or to myself along the way.
My name is Mike Dofner. I got involved with Creek Connections through Robert Morris University. I will be a senior there this up coming year and I am majoring in Biology and minoring in Environmental Science. I am a huge outdoors enthusiast. Hunting and fishing are a big part of my life. Usually any free time I get, you can find me doing one of these activities. On top of that, I love being out on the water in my kayak, whether I'm fishing from it or just cruising down the stream.

Getting to know the Creekers
Hi Campers!
We can't wait for you all to arrive! Our names are Melissa and Johanna and we are going to be two of your counselors during Creek Camp. We have been making preparations for weeks now anxiously awaiting your arrival. But it hasn't been all paperwork and office doings. Last week we kayaked the route that we will be canoeing during camp. Rock skipping contest anyone? We also made you all swag bags with some pretty sweet gear inside. Door name tags are completed and ready for move-in day. We hope you are all as excited as we are about Creek Camp!
Here's a little something about each of us so you can get to know us a little better before we meet face to face!
Melissa:
I love the outdoors and everything associated with it from swimming, biking, hiking, and kayaking, I am up for any new adventure. I wake up super early to get my morning miles in and I may or may not come back with pots and pans to wake everyone up..... Just kidding! I am a morning person but I will still respect your sleep. I can't wait to learn and share new experiences with you!
Johanna:
I love being up and active outside! I love bike riding and rock climbing, and I can't wait to spend the week outside with you all! I am NOT a morning person, so anyone else who can't stand cheeriness can sit with me at breakfast and we can quietly and sleepily complain about how crazy it is that Melissa loves mornings. I love animals and being in nature and I'm not afraid to touch the awesome bugs that we find. I'm so excited for camp, and I hope you all are too!
Now enjoy this video of Otters chasing a butterfly. :)
