July's around the corner...

... and Creek Camp is approaching!

This blog allows you to talk to us (Creek Connections), former Creek Camp participants and each other. Ask questions, share information about things you've seen, whatever... We'll keep a daily blog of our activities once camp begins.

Time to dig out the flags and banners for the 4th of July. It's hard to believe that it's nearly here!

Hey! Liz Clark here. I went into creek camp as a high schooler intersted in environmental activism and with a vague environmental concern last summer. I came out of creek camp with a new understanding of the jobs and activities that people have that are hands-on with researching, protecting, and learning about the creeks and waterways. The creekers and staff put together a packed program with tons of activities, so your days are going to be long (and probably wet). Make sure to sleep unlike me so you don't need to sleep during the day in awkward places like I did :). Also make sure no one has the opportunity to throw a frog down your shirt. I mean its up to you how you use the week but you'll regret not taking advantage of the sweet activities that very few people have to learn about a once in a lifetime creek. I have remained active in Creek Connections and actually did a project working with Creek Connections for my AP Environmental Science course. Its awesome stuff.

Hello! This is Briana Bulger. I went to Creek Camp last summer (2007)and it was the best experience of my life. The Creekers were so much fun and you could really tell they loved what they were doing. The experience of Creek Camp broadened my love of nature and biology. The activities planed aer full of learning and fun, but you are going to get wet. Like Liz said make sure you sleep so you don't end up sleeping on benches and tire wheels like she did :). Creek Camp is an awesome place to learn about your local enviroment while having fun. Enjoy your time there and love nature.
